We’re looking for a Motion Graphics Designer (animator) working across 2D and 3D animation to join our growing content team. Do you obsess about motion graphics animation and the content journey? From ideation and prototyping through creation and delivery, you’ll contribute to all things animation on your assignments. You have your finger on the pulse of the latest animation tools and trends. You can composite animations with video, take static designs and bring them to life, and do this for short-form and longer-form content. You also keep an eye on future technologies, and what’s hot, understanding how motion can excite and engage consumers.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and create high-quality 2D and 3D motion graphics compositions and animations

  • Contribute to creative ideation, conceptualization, and development of visual content

  • Collaborate with designers, illustrations, and content creatives in developing branded motion content

  • Integrate, composite, and edit motion graphics animations into video content independently and working closely with editors 

  • Technical and creative research that continue to push The Program’s motion practice forward; pursue new ideas

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively as a member of a project team, partnering heavily with creative and content teams in an agile, fast-paced environment

  • Approach work using best practices to deliver premium content

  • Provide recommendations and insight, while remaining positive, open, and flexible

  • Take accountability with tight deadlines and deliver quick turnarounds and revisions while maintaining high-quality work with creative integrity

  • Remain current on design, animation, and content best practices

  • Be on set as needed

  • Bonus: assist in video editing and coloring from time to time.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 4+ Years of relevant, advertising focused, motion design, animation, and creative development experience at an agency, production company, or brand

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Maxon C4D and Red Giant

  • Proficiency in creative development, concepting, and prototyping

  • Bonus: working and growing proficiency in tools like Adobe Illustrator and Lightroom, Blender, DaVinci Resolve, and other visual design and animation tools

  • Thoughtfully approach work using best practices to deliver high-quality animated visual content in the fast-changing digital landscape

  • Accountability to tight deadlines and quick turnarounds while maintaining a high quality of work with creative integrity

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; thrive in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment and seize the opportunity to make a difference

  • Passionate and committed to your craft, and kind to your teammates

  • Punctual, accountable, and trustworthy

  • Strong attention to detail. Be pixel perfect.

  • Self-starter with proven interpersonal and communication skills

Details

  • Ideal candidates are located in Portland, Oregon, and are happy to join us in the studio a few days per week as needed. We're also open to fully remote, if there is a willingness to travel for important meetings.

  • The salary band for this role is $65,000-$80,000
